There are two functions in the Callers Caddy that require the actual starting point of a singing call.
The first is the Start countdown.

With SyncPoints, Callers Caddy can synchronize your lyrics with the music. The lyric display can then show the exact section you're currently on, perfectly matching the music.

But both functions require one crucial piece of information:
Where does the opening sequence really begin?
The problem: Nobody wants to set that manually for hundreds of songs.
Of course, you could set the song start manually.
Play song.
Listen carefully.
Find the moment when the opener begins.
Click.
Save.
That's okay for a single song.
Maybe even for ten.
But what about 300 Singing Calls?
Or 600?
Or 1,000?
Realistically speaking, hardly anyone is going to sit down and listen to an entire music collection song by song.
And that would be a shame.

She can analyze your singing call and, with a fairly high degree of probability, identify where the opener begins.
To do this, Callers Caddy analyzes various technical details within the audio file.
So you no longer have to search for each starting point manually.
You let Caller's Caddy do the hard work.
Automatically for all songs without a starting point
This is especially practical in the window Potential.
There you will find the new area „"Without a song beginning"“.
It shows you all the Singing Calls where no starting point has been set yet.
And Callers Caddy can automatically analyze exactly these songs.
This is important:
The automatic process first goes through all songs that don't yet have a song beginning.
So you don't have to search yourself for which songs still need to be prepared. Callers Caddy shows them to you and can process them all at once.
You can select individual songs, have all open songs analyzed, or — if you really want to — even have all Singing Calls re-analyzed.
In the last case, there is of course a clear security check, because existing starting points can also be overwritten.
Know in advance how long it will take
If many songs need to be analyzed, Callers Caddy estimates the duration beforehand.
First, five songs are analyzed. Based on this sample, an estimate is then made of how long the complete analysis will take.
These five songs are not discarded, but saved directly.
That way you know what you're getting into beforehand.
In my own collection, the analysis of approximately 600 songs, approximately 20 minutes took.
You can simply let it run in the background.
In comparison, manually listening, searching and setting the starting points would take many hours.
Perhaps even hundreds.
What happens if the caller's caddy is uncertain?
Automatic recognition can never be perfect for every song.
Some Singing Calls have a very clear intro.
Others are musically more complex.
That's why Callers Caddy works with a Trust threshold.
If the detection is reliable enough, the starting point is simply set.
If the caller's caddy finds the starting point but isn't sure enough, something very practical happens:
The song automatically gets a genre:

That means:
Please check again later.
The starting point is still set. So you initially have a suggestion in the song.
But you can later customize your song list by specific criteria. CHECK: START Filter and listen specifically to those borderline candidates.
So you no longer have to check hundreds of songs individually.
You only check the songs where Caller's Caddy himself says:
„"I'm not entirely sure about this."“
Your to-do list cleans itself up.
The marker CHECK: START is not permanent.
If you later open the song in sync mode and reset the beginning, the marker will disappear automatically.
Whether you accept the suggestion or manually correct the starting point.
Even if you run an automatic analysis later and Callers Caddy then reliably identifies the song, CHECK: START removed again.
That means:
Your checklist will gradually empty itself.

Automatic start detection is not magic.
Callers Caddy analyzes the audio file and looks for typical patterns that indicate where the actual singing call body begins.
First, a Beat grid calculated.
This grid is attached to the saved BPM the song is anchored in this. This is important so that the analysis doesn't accidentally end up at half or double speed.
Callers Caddy then examines several properties of music:
- the energy per beat
- rhythmic accents
- Kick-impulses
- sonic changes in the frequency spectrum
- typical arrangement edges between intro, body and outro
The structure of a singing call is particularly important.
A classic singing call consists of seven sections, each with 64 beats:
Opener, Figure, Figure, Middle Break, Figure, Figure, Closer.
This results in a total 448 Beats.
Callers Caddy is therefore not just looking for a single conspicuous spot, but for a pattern that makes sense across this entire structure.
Simply put:
The program checks where the typical section boundaries of a singing call best fit the music.
Additionally, the found starting point is locked onto a suitable musical "1" so that the beginning is as meaningfully located as possible at the beginning of the phrase.

This value describes how unique the best position found is compared to other possible positions.
