The new CALLERLAB dance programs will come into effect on September 1, 2026. Mainstream will be streamlined to 50 figures. At the same time, some figures from Mainstream and Advanced 1 will move to the Plus program.
With version 0.139, the Caller's Caddy is prepared for this change. It also takes into account that not all clubs will switch to the new programs immediately.
Using old and new programs in parallel
Perhaps your club will continue to dance to the same mainstream program on Tuesdays. Your club on Fridays, however, will already be starting with mainstream music (2026).
As a caller, you must therefore be able to use both programs in parallel.
The caller's caddy now knows both worlds:
- Mainstream, Plus and Advanced 1 according to the previous lists
- Mainstream (2026), Plus (2026) and Advanced 1 (2026) according to the new lists
You can specify which dance programs will be played at each location. When changing locations, the caller's caddy automatically makes the appropriate selection.
Select multiple dance programs
A single venue can now use multiple dance programs simultaneously.
This is necessary because the programs build on each other and individual characters have been reassigned due to the changeover.
Those who dance according to the new Plus program choose, for example:
- Mainstream (2026)
- Plus (2026)
The deeper programs are intentionally not added automatically. This way, you retain control over which characters and sequences can be used.
Important note regarding the current mainstream
If your club continues to dance to the old mainstream program, you must select three programs:
- Basic 1
- Basic 2
- Mainstream
These programs were previously designed as separate levels and therefore must be selected together.
In Mainstream (2026) That's different. All 50 characters from the new mainstream program are already included there. In this case, the selection is limited to... Mainstream (2026).
The sequence filters adjust automatically.
The sequence list only shows sequences whose figures are fully included in the selected dance programs.
If you select Mainstream (2026), only sequences that can be danced with the new 50 Mainstream figures will appear. If you also select Plus (2026), the corresponding Plus sequences will be added.
The figure filters "Contains" and "Limit" also follow the current program selection. A figure like "Spin Chain Thru" is correctly categorized under Plus in the new structure.
The "Only" filter displays sequences that truly require the highest-level selected program. Sequences that can be danced with a lower-level program are not shown.
The selection also works without a location.
The dance program selection is no longer tied to a specific location.
You can select programs directly via the program button in the player – even if you're not currently using a location. The Caller's Caddy remembers your last selection and loads it again the next time you start it.
If you select a location later, its saved programs will be used.
You can also find the current selection at:
Settings → Sequences → Dance Program(s)
Class programs will remain in place.
The Class programs will also remain available. They use the same characters as their respective 2026 programs.
The program list is now clearly sorted by level:
- previous program
- Program (2026)
- Program (Class)
You can still set the target song duration separately for each program.
Advanced 2 to Challenge 3B remain unchanged.
What do you need to do during the update?
In In contrast to the sequence update from a few days ago This time you don't need to import any data manually.
On the first launch of version 0.139, Caller's Caddy automatically rebuilds the existing database to the new program structure. Existing locations are converted to the new 2026 programs by default.
If a club wants to continue dancing according to the existing lists, you can subsequently change its program selection.
Please back up your program folder beforehand.
I have tested the automatic conversion several times. Nevertheless, it represents a major intervention in the existing database.
Therefore, please copy the entire Caller's Caddy program folder or back it up in another way before updating.
Caller's Caddy automatically creates a backup of the database during the migration. However, I strongly recommend that you also back up the program folder separately – just in case.
Faster program changes
The sequence check was technically revised for the new program structure.
The Caller's Caddy now calculates the appropriate sequences only once per program combination and stores the result. Afterwards, program changes, filters, scrolling, and the detailed view respond virtually without delay.
This eliminates the previously possible waiting time of several seconds, especially on weaker computers.
Dynamic Lyrics is now starting completely randomly
Dynamic Lyrics has also received a small improvement.
If the dice mode for the sequences is active, the first sequence is now randomly selected. Sequences that have already been used will continue to be skipped until all have been displayed once.
The second major change within a month
Following the comprehensive reorganization of the sequences, this was already the second major internal change within a few weeks.
Dance programs, teaching orders, assignments, and filters had to be reorganized. At the same time, it had to be ensured that all existing functions worked correctly even with multiple program lists used simultaneously.
With version 0.139, the Caller's Caddy is ready for the new dance programs from September 2026. At the same time, you can continue to dance with your clubs using the existing lists for as long as it makes sense for you.
