Normally, you'd expect that when the volume control is turned all the way down, the music is completely off. However, some callers want to be able to hear some quiet background music even at the lowest setting.

How the volume was controlled in the past

With classic systems, such as those from Hilton, the music initially came into the system at full volume from the record or later from the laptop.

The audio signal was then electronically attenuated via a remote rotary control on the microphone. Depending on how far you turned the control, the music came out of the system louder or quieter.

The actual volume control therefore only took place in the audio device.

Modern remote systems start earlier

Modern remote systems that connect directly to the laptop take a different approach. They already control the volume output from the computer.

Turning down the remote volume control immediately reduces the laptop's output volume. The downstream audio device no longer needs to handle this adjustment.

Why shouldn't the music fall silent completely?

Some callers do not want absolute silence when the remote control is turned all the way down.

Instead, for example, 10 or 20 percent The music should remain audible as a quiet background hum. That's exactly what the volume limiter in the Caller's Caddy is for.

Your personal minimum volume

In the Caller Caddy settings You can decide for yourself how low the music volume can be turned down.

For example, if you set the volume limiter to 20 percent, The music cannot get quieter than 20 percent. As soon as you turn the knob down further, the volume simply remains at this limit.

You can of course continue to adjust the music up to the highest level. 100 percent regulate.

Whether you need this feature depends entirely on your personal workflow. If it's relevant to you, simply adjust the minimum volume to best suit your setup and calling style.

The volume limiter lets you set the maximum volume level allowed in the Callers Caddy.
