Almost every Singing Call has an intro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And often an outro as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That's perfectly normal. The music file starts, the intro plays \u2014 and only after a few seconds does the actual opener begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not a problem when simply playing the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for smart caller software, this is precisely the important moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because Caller's Caddy can do significantly more if the program knows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where does the song really begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why the actual song start is so important<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are two functions in the Callers Caddy that require the actual starting point of a singing call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first is the Start countdown<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He helps you enter at exactly the right moment. Caller's Caddy can count you down before your entry, so you no longer have to guess when it starts from the intro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second function is the SyncPoints<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With SyncPoints, Callers Caddy can synchronize your lyrics with the music. The lyric display can then show the exact section you're currently on, perfectly matching the music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music is playing \u2014 and your lyric text follows.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But both functions require one crucial piece of information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where does the opening sequence really begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem: Nobody wants to set that manually for hundreds of songs.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, you could set the song start manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play song.
Listen carefully.
Find the moment when the opener begins.
Click.
Save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That's okay for a single song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe even for ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what about 300 Singing Calls?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or 600?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or 1,000?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Realistically speaking, hardly anyone is going to sit down and listen to an entire music collection song by song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that would be a shame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features like the start countdown and automatic synchronization of your lyrics become much more valuable when your songs already know their actual starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New: Callers Caddy detects the song start for you<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That's why Callers Caddy now has a new automatic analysis function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She can analyze your singing call and, with a fairly high degree of probability, identify where the opener begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, Callers Caddy analyzes various technical details within the audio file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So you no longer have to search for each starting point manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It shows you all the Singing Calls where no starting point has been set yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Callers Caddy can automatically analyze exactly these songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automatic process first goes through all songs that don't yet have a song beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So you don't have to search yourself for which songs still need to be prepared. Callers Caddy shows them to you and can process them all at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can select individual songs, have all open songs analyzed, or \u2014 if you really want to \u2014 even have all Singing Calls re-analyzed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last case, there is of course a clear security check, because existing starting points can also be overwritten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know in advance how long it will take<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If many songs need to be analyzed, Callers Caddy estimates the duration beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, five songs are analyzed. Based on this sample, an estimate is then made of how long the complete analysis will take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These five songs are not discarded, but saved directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That way you know what you're getting into beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my own collection, the analysis of approximately 600 songs, approximately 20 minutes<\/strong> took.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can simply let it run in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison, manually listening, searching and setting the starting points would take many hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps even hundreds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens if the caller's caddy is uncertain?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Automatic recognition can never be perfect for every song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some Singing Calls have a very clear intro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others are musically more complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That's why Callers Caddy works with a Trust threshold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the detection is reliable enough, the starting point is simply set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the caller's caddy finds the starting point but isn't sure enough, something very practical happens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song automatically gets a genre:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHECK: START<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please check again later.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The starting point is still set. So you initially have a suggestion in the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But you can later customize your song list by specific criteria. CHECK: START<\/strong> Filter and listen specifically to those borderline candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So you no longer have to check hundreds of songs individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You only check the songs where Caller's Caddy himself says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201e"I'm not entirely sure about this."\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your to-do list cleans itself up.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The marker CHECK: START<\/strong> is not permanent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you later open the song in sync mode and reset the beginning, the marker will disappear automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you accept the suggestion or manually correct the starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you run an automatic analysis later and Callers Caddy then reliably identifies the song, CHECK: START<\/strong> removed again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your checklist will gradually empty itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like the well-known NEW<\/strong>-Genre helps you with newly imported songs CHECK: START<\/strong>, to keep track of everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But not for new songs, but for songs where the automatically detected starting point should be checked again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A huge hurdle has been removed.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The start countdown and SyncPoints were already powerful features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now it's much easier to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the biggest hurdle disappears:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You no longer have to find the starting point yourself for every singing call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caller's Caddy can suggest him for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if the suggestion is uncertain, Callers Caddy automatically marks the song for review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This makes it realistic to prepare even large music libraries for countdown and lyric synchronization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nerds: How does Caller's Caddy recognize the real start of a song?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Automatic start detection is not magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callers Caddy analyzes the audio file and looks for typical patterns that indicate where the actual singing call body begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, a Beat grid<\/strong> calculated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This grid is attached to the saved BPM<\/strong> the song is anchored in this. This is important so that the analysis doesn't accidentally end up at half or double speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callers Caddy then examines several properties of music:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
