One of the most delicate moments in the Singing Call is the first mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The music starts, the intro ends, and you need to know exactly when your first call comes in. If you're too early, it feels unsettled. If you're too late, the whole start immediately feels shaky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That's exactly what the Callers Caddy version 0.110 and later includes the new feature. Start countdown<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before the singing starts, the Callers Caddy displays a large, semi-transparent overlay and counts down the beats until the first call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The countdown runs in sync with the music's beat. It's purely visual and doesn't affect the audio playback. Tempo and pitch remain unchanged, and if you use the tempo control, the countdown will automatically follow the set tempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The last two beats are deliberately left open so that your focus is completely back on the song when it starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In order for the countdown to know when to count you in, the Callers Caddy needs two pieces of information: the BPM of the song and the stored song start time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This song start comes from the sync in the Lyric Widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a reminder: Sync points allow you to keep the auto-scroll of your lyrics synchronized with the music. While the song is playing, you set timestamps in the lyrics. This tells the Callers Caddy when to display which part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Manually setting all sync points can be time-consuming. Therefore, the process can now be significantly automated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You click once at the actual start of the singing call \u2014 that is, the point where you place your first call. Then you click at the end of the closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From these two points, the caller's caddy can calculate the song sections and simultaneously use the starting point for the countdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The detailed article on automatically setting all sync points will be published in the next post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Saving the start and end points also makes the song status bar more accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The seven segment strips in the mini-player now lie between the actual start and end of the song. As a result, the bar no longer just shows a rough division, but the actual sung portion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This way you can see more precisely which part of the Singing Call you are currently in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The start countdown is enabled by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can find it at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Settings \u2192 Display \u2192 Show start countdown<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you prefer to work without visual counting, you can turn it off there at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The countdown takes away a critical moment: the start of the singing call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once the song start time is saved, the Callers Caddy counts you in to the beat.
